He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. (Proverbs 21:21)
This is a scripture that has inspired me over and over again through my Christian walk. I have often asked God to show me the real bottom line of ministry and life. In this small book I want to focus in on just what this short but powerful scripture has to say.
The Bible says in Psalms 23:1-3 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
If we pursue righteousness or a right relationship with God and we pursue or chase after with the intent to capture love, what we will find is life, prosperity and honor. When you are chasing something or someone you go where they lead not where you want to go. I have found that if I chase after righteousness and love, I wind up beside still waters and in green pastures.
The chase is designed to end at a chosen place and a new discovery is made, a discovery that cannot be made anywhere else. God allows us to capture Him, and there in that place where He has led us, we discover love himself. Then as we are over come with the discovery of Him, we began to realize that we are truly made right in our relationship and love in His presence. As if that were not enough, we also become aware of the green pastures and still waters where in we have been led.
In this new place we are made able to live full lives, prosper, and find honor and purpses in what we do. My prayer is that you will soon be beside the still waters and empowered to remain there daily. All too often leaders find themselves having much more than they can handle in the ministry efforts we must do. The challenge is that we wander away form those still waters. We must get back to the basics! He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
Seek Him and Find Him! Then you will be ready to minister to others!
