Boldness of the Believer
Today you need to know who you are and to whom you belong
Identification: you can’t get to where you want to go without it.
Who are you? Can you state with boldness (confidence) your identity?
The question that Paul asked on the Damascus Road was; who are you Lord.
What manner of man is this that the winds and the sea obey Him?
The disciples wanted to know; when the storm was calmed with His command of “peace be still”.
The leaders of the Sanhedrin wanted Peter and John to tell them what authority healed the man at the gate beautiful. Who is this?
Oh, but when John the Revelator saw Jesus (Revelation chapter 1) he didn’t ask who are you: but instead fell at Jesus feet as though he (John) was dead. Jesus (as He is) was revealed to John!
Such awesome glory: He saw the King of Glory!
Is this not the same John who was on the Mount of Transfiguration? Yes!
He had seen Jesus in His glory before! What is the difference? Now John has revelation! Jesus as He is! Not as He was!
His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow and His eyes were as a flame of fire and His feet like fine brass burned in a furnace and His voice as the sound of many waters
And he had in his right hand seven stars: out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. Then He said fear not I am the first and the last I am HE that liveth and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen and have the keys of hell and of death. Write.................
To whom did John write? The churches!
Why? Because he saw Jesus! He saw into the realm of reality! Eternal truth stood face to face with John!
Do you have a revelation of JESUS as He is??
I do not mean do you know about Him, I mean is He the Holy Ghost a fire shut up in your bones?
Do people ask you who you are?
Does the world see you demonstrate His majesty?
Are we full of Holy Ghost BOLDNESS!
Are we saying to the Lost you can be saved! I know the Savior!
Do we say to the sick you can be healed! I know the Healer!
Are we saying to the oppressed that you can be free? I know the Deliverer!
Do we believe? Are we free in Christ Jesus?
We have heard about liberty and freedom.
Have we believed the report of the Lord (Isaiah 53)?
If so; what has it produced in our lives?
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty.
When I look at the Scripture seeing where the Holy Ghost is given; the result is a boldness to speak the Word of the Living God.
Look with me at the Proverb Pro 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
You are righteous if you are in Christ Jesus!! 2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels
Knowing we are righteous should produce boldness!
Do we possess boldness? Or does it possess us?
We overcome by boldness, confidence, and trust!
Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (boldness: or, liberty)
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
Act 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Let’s read from the Good News Bible 2 Cor. 3:2-12
2Co 3:2 You yourselves are the letter we have, written on our hearts for everyone to know and read.
2Co 3:3 It is clear that Christ himself wrote this letter and sent it by us. It is written, not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, and not on stone tablets but on human hearts.
2Co 3:4 We say this because we have confidence in God through Christ.
2Co 3:5 There is nothing in us that allows us to claim that we are capable of doing this work. The capacity we have comes from God;
2Co 3:6 it is he who made us capable of serving the new covenant, which consists not of a written law but of the Spirit. The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life.
2Co 3:7 The Law was carved in letters on stone tablets, and God's glory appeared when it was given. Even though the brightness on Moses' face was fading, it was so strong that the people of Israel could not keep their eyes fixed on him. If the Law, which brings death when it is in force, came with such glory,
2Co 3:8 how much greater is the glory that belongs to the activity of the Spirit!
2Co 3:9 The system which brings condemnation was glorious; how much more glorious is the activity which brings salvation!
2Co 3:10 We may say that because of the far brighter glory now the glory that was so bright in the past is gone.
2Co 3:11 For if there was glory in that which lasted for a while, how much more glory is there in that which lasts forever!
2Co 3:12 Because we have this hope, we are very bold.
Let’s look at more of what the word has to say.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (substance: or, ground, or, confidence)
Put confidence in the place of substance let’s read again.
Heb 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
1Jo 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (In: or, concerning)
1Jo 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
1Jo 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Beloved we are in a time when Holy Boldness and Trust in Jesus’ provision is not just attractive but necessary. If promoting and building the Kingdom of Almighty God is our desire. Matthew 6:19-33.
Act 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1Co 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: (enticing: or, persuasible)
1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (stand: Gr. be)
Phi 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Let us never forget to whom we belong!
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Psa 27:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid…..Psa 27:3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Glory to His Holy name! Give Jesus a Shout of Praise!
Know that all confidence and boldness are because of who we are in Christ Jesus. How many times does the Word say fear not? 1 John 4:18.
We are bold because we are not here to comfort the world (cosmos, worldly systems) but to take over through the most powerful weapon ever known agape or God’s love.
Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love. and 1Corinthians 13:8.Love never fails. This is why we can have complete confidence and extreme boldness. We know who He says we are and what He says we can do!
Beloved be Bold!
