Featured Article - Prayer & Intercession. prayinghands

Before you let the title of this article move your eyes on down the page, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION. THIS ARTICLE IS FOR YOU!  Sorry I did not mean to yell. No, really, I did! This is one of those areas where we really need to wake up, church. We need people travailing and availing in the presence of God. Much prayer and intercession is needed, if we are to wage a good warfare against the darkness of our day! Am I right? Does anybody really care?

I hear some saying, "It is time that we sound the trumpet!"  Why?  What did you hear? I have heard many saying, "We live in times of great uncertainty!" What generation hasn't? We are equipped to be victorious over uncertainty, because we can talk to God and discover what He is saying!  When we pray and hear God say something, that is how and when we know to sound an alarm or proclaim a fast. Acts 17:28 says: for in Him we live and move and have our being. Only when we pray do we begin to have an impact on our generation. When we get right before God and stay right in front of God, then we begin to avail much (James 5:16).

The apostles said we need to let go of some of the ministry we are doing. We should choose some powerful and anointed people to continue this work that we know God is wanting done. Then, we need to prioritize more of our time to prayer and the word of God. This way we may be able to know what else He wants to do through us (The Fred translation of Acts 6:4).

Prayer was a priority to the disciples, and it was a priority to Jesus, as well! He started His ministry in the wilderness praying, and He finished in the garden praying. The fact of the matter is this, when He finished the wilderness experience, He was empowered to do the work of the ministry. When He finished the garden experience,  He had empowered us to do the work of the ministry! Greater works!  Amen!

Let me ask you this, "What then is Jesus doing now? Did he go up to heaven, kick back in His easy chair, and say, 'Boy! I'm glad that is over!'"   No! .... O.K., you are right! He is constantly interceding! Hebrew 7:25 & Romans 8:34b say, It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

I have already eluded to James 5:16: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I just want to remind you that Jesus is both righteous and a man, and  He is praying for you and me, right now! He is availing much in our behalf.  Why? Well, we surely do need it! Perhaps, but, I think it goes far past that simple "no-brainier" comment! The scriptures tell us that God, the Father, created the kingdom of God for His Son! This was the Jewish custom that the father, when it was time for the son to take a wife, would begin to build onto his house, a house for the son and his bride-to-be. The father and son would work on this until it was finished and ready. The Father in heaven is focused on the son. He has built the kingdom for His sake.

Now watch this closely.  Jesus said, (John 14:2-3) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

You see the Father and the Son are building something. The Father is focused on the Son, but the son is focused on His bride. Together they are building a house with great expectation! How exciting is that! Wow! But now let's talk about one more person that is involved. The scripture I want to show you is Genesis the 24th chapter where Abraham has realized that it is time for Isaac, his son, to take a wife. So He calls for his oldest and trusted friend and servant. This man is interestingly enough not named in this portion of scripture. Genesis 24: 4-12, "but you shall go to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Isaac." And the servant said to him, "Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I take your son back to the land from which you came?" But Abraham said to him, "Beware that you do not take my son back there. "The LORD God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, 'To your descendants I give this land,' He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there. "And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be released from this oath; only do not take my son."  (We have been given a free will, and God the Father, Son nor Holy Spirit will violate it.)

The type and shadow of the Holy Spirit is clearly represented in this unnamed man. He is the one sent to come alongside, and He is given authority in choosing the bride for the Son. He is given power and possessions to get the job done. He will not coerce the bride nor advertise for her.  He will allow her to be providentially lead to him through something close to what we would call a word of wisdom. I want you to notice that the Holy Spirit and this man pray and inquire of God.

In the next several verses the story unfolds as to how the servant goes to a city called Nahor. This city bore the name of Abraham's grandfather and one of his brothers, positively kinsmen.

Verse:10-11: Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, for all his master's goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water.

The Holy Spirit has all the goods in his hand that the bride needs. There are many references to wells of water: another woman at the well, and a well that sprang forth from a rock, and a well that Isaac and Rebecca's son, Jacob, dug.  It speaks of the generations being served by the living water.  In our day it is more than a well that people must come and draw from, it is now rivers of living water flowing from inside of us out to people wherever we go. We must seek and find by the Spirit where this well, this river, is needed today. We are the Bride of Christ, and we have all the Master's goods in our hands. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. We are a wellspring of living water, and we must pray and intercede to keep it flowing to the right places.

The Holy Spirit in Genesis is found brooding over the face of the earth.  It was without form and void but order came by the spirit and from that order came the revelation of the creation.

The word was spoken, and the spirit breathed. The kingdom of God began to bring together a bride suitable for the Son. Yes, my friend, He is the soon-coming king, and we need to be talking to and listening to the one He sent to help us.  "And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be released." If we choose not to go with the Holy Spirit, then He is not bound to His oath to the Father. Please hear me.  Prayer and Intercession are of major importance now! Please spend time in prayer.  We want to avail!  Amen!

Revelation 12:10-12:  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens,

Availers and overcomers, followers of the Spirit, such is the Bride He is coming for.

Prophetic Countdown - Bogota.. . FredColumbia

Please be in great prayer as Tony Poole, Roger Reeves, and Fred Hughes join Maru Gutierrez and her team in Bogota, Columbia. The pastor's conference will be November 27th through December 3rd, 2007.  Five hundred pastors are expected.  Many of them will leave the conference trained to teach the "Are You Born Again" soul-winning course.  Church leaders will be trained, and soon very large numbers of people all over the city from many churches will be soul winners.   Pray that all will go well, and we can break through the spiritual darkness of this city.  In time, the whole country of Columbia will know  the love of Christ.

It is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. (Romans 2:4)

Decision One - Seek & Find. Prayer changes things... like me!

Acts 17:26-28:  And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; "for in Him we live and move and have our being,

Luke 11:9-10 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Jer 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Wholeheartedly seek God! It is not mission impossible! If you will seek, you can find Him.

Blessings,

Rom 10:13-15 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
God will reward those who send the glad tidings of good things.
